Europe 2011
Viv and I are really looking forward to the relaxing cruise across the Atlantic as this is our first cruise and Viv will have just retired at the beginning of the month. Robert and Sharon are old hands at cruising as they have been aboard a number of times.
Once we land in Copenhagen we spend a couple of days there then fly to Brussels and pick up our car which we will be keeping while we are in Europe. We are driving down to Cannes where the Cannes film Festival will be just starting. Two day there then we make our way to Tuscany, Italy where we have rented a 2 bedroom apartment for a week and we will hook back up with Robert who spent that week in Venice and Florence. All the apartments we are renting have two bedrooms and two bathrooms, kitchen living room. Next we are off to the Amalfi coast which is just south of Naples and again a week in apartment. Next to southern France for a week just outside of Bordeaux. Then north to the Loire Valley for a week there. Each week is in an apartment similar to the first one.
Next we go to Versailles for a couple of days then to Brussels to drop off the car and to fly to Edinburgh, Scotland. Robert and Sharon head home and we go on for a week in Scotland with a rental car. We are spending two days in Edinburgh then up to Aberdeen then Inverness. We fly home from London on June 20, 2011.
Besides the great food all across Europe, I am really looking forward to the opportunity for photography. Viv will be spending quite a bit of time in the art museums and sampling the odd wine. Highlights of the trip for Viv will be enjoying some of the best wine country in the world and oh yes most of our time in Scotland will be in the highlands enjoying a wee dram of whiskey.
